Job Title: Development Process Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineering Manager to join our team at Cpl Life Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the Process Engineering team's day-to-day activities, facilitating the professional development of team members, and enabling smooth communication between R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and manage the Process Engineering team's day-to-day activities, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  2. Facilitate the professional development of Process Engineering team members, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  3. Enable smooth communication between R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  4. Work with the Manufacturing and Quality team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, implementing solutions to drive business success.
  5. Collaborate with new product development teams to advise on design for manufacture, ensuring processes and procedures are suitable for mass manufacture.
  6. Oversee the training of manufacturing staff on new processes, including delicate mechanical assembly, soldering, board programming, and calibration.
  7. Work with the software team to automate existing processes, including the implementation of robotics and cobots.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining high-quality products and processes.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject.
  2. Attention to detail and a drive to deliver quality products.
  3. Project planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.
  4. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Publisher).
  5. Ability to travel (UK and occasionally internationally).

Desirable:

  1. Electronics assembly and soldering proficiency – surface mount and through hole.
  2. Familiarity with assembly of single-use plastic products, including adhesives and ultrasonic welding.
