Job Opportunity: Rigger/Lasher Port Operative

We are seeking a skilled Rigger/Lasher Port Operative to join our team at Nicholas Associates Group Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on vessels/ships to support the loading and unloading of containers
  • Collaborate with a team to chain and unchain containers to the ship for secure transit
  • Act as a Banksman, directing tug drivers and ensuring safe positioning of the team
  • Inspect tools and equipment, reporting any damages
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and processes

Requirements:

  • Previous port experience is beneficial, but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided
  • Able to pass port-specific tests, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to personal transportation
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with a strong focus on health and safety, performing physical tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy while on-board ship

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Hourly rate: £11.94-£19.82, with potential for an additional £1.50 per hour Attendance Bonus
  • 8-hour shift, day shift, flexitime, Monday to Sunday, night shift, overtime, and weekend availability

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Work Environment:

Work will be conducted in person.
