We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Management: Assess project requirements, break down tasks, and work with project managers to determine scope, budget, and staffing.
- Design and Development: Write scope of work for electrical design, prepare engineering studies, and schematic design for new systems, and analyze operation of existing systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with code officials, design professionals, and clients to ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
- Team Leadership: Assign and review work of project design team, check progress, and alert project managers to changes in scope or additional services.
- Financial Management: Review contractor applications for payments, and have a thorough understanding of the construction process.
- Document Management: Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.
- Professional Development: Promote use of and participate in the development of company design and production standards, assist in the education and development of design staff, and act as a resource for design questions.
- Technical Expertise: Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents, create specialized drawings, and provide drawings for own designs.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years' previous design experience, with a strong preference for experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Nutraceutical, or Life Science industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Certifications: Registered Professional Engineer is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.), experience with the design of building electrical systems, and a strong understanding of the Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, IBC, and other related building codes and standards.
