Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at GPS Recruitment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of engineering services and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibration and Fault Finding: You will be responsible for calibrating and fault-finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including various voltage systems, steam raising plant, and associated equipment.
  • Interpretation and Execution: You will interpret and work from instructions, drawings, and specifications in electrical or mechanical installations, plant, and equipment.
  • Manufacturing and Installation: You will manufacture, design, assemble, erect, and install new work, often using your own judgment regarding complex equipment.
  • Problem Solving: You will be responsible for problem-solving technical issues and fault diagnosis on complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Training and Development: You will be expected to learn new techniques and undergo training as necessary.
  • Policies and Procedures: You will be expected to help develop policies, procedures, and practices in relation to your work area.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and day-to-day duties involving the maintenance of all types of plant, equipment, and installations.
  • On-Call/Shift Rotas: You will participate in on-call/shift rotas and be prepared to work such hours that may be required in an emergency.
  • Technical Publications: You will work to and interpret technical publications relevant to your core trade.
  • Building Management System: You will use the Building Management System for first-line plant fault diagnosis and plant performance monitoring.

Key Criteria:

  • Previous Experience: You will have previous experience in a similar role.
  • Qualifications: You will have an ONC or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: You will have a recognized and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship.
  • Previous Experience in a Multidisciplined Environment: You will have previous experience working on breakdowns and PPM on technical mechanical, steam raising, and electrical plant in a multidisciplined healthcare environment.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is circa £37.5K, with an on-call bonus of circa £8K and overtime pay.
