About the Role

We are seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a clinical specialist in heart failure, you will play a key role in developing and delivering pharmaceutical services to patients with cardiovascular disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services for patients with cardiovascular disease, in collaboration with the integrated heart failure team.
  • Ensure safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs in these patients, in line with national and local priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to ensure they meet the needs of patients and the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with senior pharmacy and medical staff, multidisciplinary teams, and management to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical governance agendas related to drug use.
Requirements
  • MPharm degree and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Higher degree or postgraduate diploma in general pharmacy practice, or equivalent.
  • Independent prescribing qualification.
  • Experience in managing clinical pharmacy services, with a focus on cardiovascular disease.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others, and to develop and implement clinical pharmacy services in line with local and national objectives.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • RPS membership and Faculty membership.
  • Clinical experience in intensive care or another level 3 environment.
  • Experience in teaching and training pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Postgraduate qualification with a research component, or equivalent published evidence.
