Audit and Accounts Semi Senior Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Audit and Accounts Semi Senior to join our team at a thriving regional firm of accountants in Taunton.

This role will suit an accountant who has been working at junior level and has some experience of, or interest in audit and is looking to progress their career. Alternatively, you may be a Semi Senior Accountant with audit experience who is excited to take on a new challenge.

Job Purpose
  • Preparation of statutory and management accounts for a diverse range of clients.
  • Assistance with the management of audits from planning to completion.
  • General accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and report production.
  • Client visits and audit field work, providing an enhanced level of service and communication.
  • Mentoring junior staff and supporting their learning and development.
  • Monitoring client deadlines and ensuring timely completion.
  • Collaboration with the senior management team to support company growth.
  • Identification of services that will add value to client portfolios.
The Ideal Candidate
  • ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified or studying with experience in practice.
  • Experience or interest in working as part of an audit team.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a drive to progress.
  • Technically efficient and able to deliver technical knowledge.
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
