Landscape Architect Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Architect to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing outdoor spaces, including parks, gardens, campuses, and residential areas, ensuring aesthetic appeal and functionality while considering environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions, such as soil quality, topography, climate, and vegetation, to inform the design process and ensure suitability for proposed projects.
  • Develop and implement landscape designs that meet local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws, environmental regulations, and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to discuss project goals, present design proposals, and make revisions based on client feedback.
  • Oversee the implementation of landscape projects, coordinating with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in landscape architecture, ecology, horticulture, and site engineering.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture alongside experience with Horticulture, Environmental Science, & Site Engineering.
  • Proficient with CAD, Sketchup, & GIS.
  • Strong Communication Skills both Written & Verbal.
