Associate Director of Finance – Financial Sustainability and Improvement

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Finance to lead the Financial Management function and play a key role in the Financial Recovery Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong budgetary and financial control, providing professional financial advice and management information to ensure NHS Dumfries and Galloway achieves its statutory financial targets.
  • Develop short and medium-term financial plans in line with local, regional, and national priorities, ensuring financial plans are coordinated with capacity and workforce plans, as well as the Board's clinical framework and property strategy.
  • Work closely with senior staff, including the Director of Finance, Deputy Director of Finance, and Executive Directors, to drive financial sustainability and improvement.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance, including attendance and presentation at NHS Board, Performance Committee, and other similar meetings.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to CCAB, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Significant experience at a management level within the public sector.
