Role Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, mentoring, and support of training and assessment for apprentices in the Early Years Education sector, spanning levels 2 to 5, as well as the Teaching Assistant role. The candidate's knowledge and experience in Early Years or educational settings will be instrumental in helping apprentices achieve their training objectives effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment:
    • Conduct skills evaluations with apprentices and employers to identify areas for improvement.
    • Design and implement personalized training plans.
    • Maintain accurate records of candidates and conduct workplace observations.
    • Deliver high-quality training, including functional skills, adhering to awarding body standards.
    • Evaluate skills and behaviors, providing constructive feedback through the ePortfolio system.
  • Training:
    • Develop customized action plans for candidates.
    • Facilitate workplace training focusing on Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors.
    • Assist with English and Maths training, ensuring successful outcomes in collaboration with functional skills specialists.
    • Provide tutorial support covering Prevent, British Values, Personal Development, Behavior, Welfare, Safeguarding, and additional learning needs.
    • Conduct remote webinars for apprentices.
    • Deliver training on British Values, Prevent, mental health, well-being, career guidance, and safety topics.
  • Coordination and Support:
    • Monitor apprentice progress and assist with portfolio completion and assessments, establishing timely completion targets.
    • Document and report on Additional Learning Support (ALS).
    • Provide information regarding apprenticeship programs to employers and apprentices.
    • Collaborate with line managers for performance reviews and appraisals.
    • Supply data on programs and learners, contributing to self-assessment monitoring.
    • Manage the start-up pack and evidence base for apprentices.
    • Participate in CPD, standardization events, and company conferences.
    • Support apprentices and employers through the End Point Assessment process.
  • Administration:
    • Complete necessary documentation for onboarding new candidates and tracking their progress.
    • Maintain records of candidate progress against established targets.
    • Document employer visits, candidate reviews, assessment visits, and other relevant appointments.
    • Ensure timely student achievements and complete required Gateway and End Point Assessment documentation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possess a qualification or relevant experience in the subject area.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Hold Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications.
  • Have experience working with employers in a training or customer relations capacity.
  • Able to cultivate strong professional relationships with employers and learners.
  • Exhibit strong IT skills and willingness to work with e-portfolios.
  • Capable of motivating learners to ensure timely completion of their programs.
  • Hold a full driving license, possess a vehicle, and be willing to travel to various sites.
  • Display high levels of motivation and the ability to take initiative.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Possess an assessor qualification.
  • Hold a relevant degree.
  • Have an IV/IQA qualification.
  • Experience in Further Education or a similar environment.
  • Early Years Advanced Practitioner or Management experience.
