About This Role
As a Technical Art Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of game development within Electronic Arts. You'll bridge the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring seamless workflows and pushing the boundaries of what's possible within our Frostbite engine.
Your Impact
- Collaborate closely with Technical Art Directors across game teams to understand their unique challenges and identify opportunities for improvement in content creation pipelines.
- Partner with the Frostbite development team to implement engine enhancements that directly address the needs of our game developers.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that foster collaboration between Frostbite team members worldwide, ensuring a unified approach to game development.
- Provide guidance and expertise to the quality verification team, helping them develop more effective workflow tests.
- Mentor technical artists, engineers, and quality assurance specialists on content-related topics, sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Champion the Partner Experience within Electronic Arts, driving continuous improvements in how Frostbite supports game teams.
- Contribute to the broader EA technical art community, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of innovation.
Your Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in game development, ideally within AAA studios or engine development environments.
- Extensive expertise in developing and refining content workflows and pipelines.
- Mastery of several industry-standard DCC applications such as Maya, Houdini, Substance, Blender, or Photoshop.
- Proven ability to optimize game content within technical constraints.
- Experience with visual scripting or Python programming.
- Familiarity with game engines, including Frostbite, Unreal, or Unity.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with artists, engineers, and management.
- A passion for problem-solving and a willingness to tackle new technical and creative challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse teams across global locations.
