Job Summary

The Head of Operations and Architecture will lead the technology operations and architecture function, providing strategic direction and leadership to the team. This role is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure, whether cloud-based or on-prem, is fit for purpose and delivers the required business outcomes, allowing the Digital Services and the council to run effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the technology operations and architecture team.
  • Ensure that the infrastructure is fit for purpose and delivers the required business outcomes.
  • Spearhead the need for technology changes to deliver better outcomes, whether that be replacing the network and infrastructure stack, or introducing AI automation.
  • Devise and improve the overall technical architecture as the council moves to a digital-first strategy.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology operations and architecture, with experience in leading teams and driving strategic change. They will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and have a deep understanding of the council's digital transformation goals.
