Our Decarbonisation Journey

We have set an ambitious decarbonisation timeline, consisting of three key milestones:

  • Offset 100% of Scope-1 carbon emissions from 2025.
  • Build and operate a zero-emissions vessel by 2030.
  • Achieve zero-emissions fleetwide by 2050.

Job Purpose

This role will be part of our global geared chartering team, with a primary focus on the Atlantic markets. You will be responsible for ensuring adequate and fully performed Handysize to Ultramax freight coverage in line with agreed policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the geared team to prepare and execute trading strategies to meet dry bulk business targets.
  • Identify business growth opportunities and negotiate to fix in and out tonnage in the spot and period market in line with company standards and policies.
  • Price forward cargoes and COAs to complement current trade flows and explore new business to optimize returns.
  • Collate and analyze market information for weekly and monthly reports.
  • Work with the analytics team to forecast and identify longer-term trends and opportunities.
  • Provide strong customer service and build relations with existing and new partners.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as maritime or business.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the shipping industry, preferably in commercial shore-based roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Risk appetite to take positions and develop new business.
  • Good research and intelligence gathering skills.
  • An independent 'can-do' attitude and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartering experience in the Atlantic basin within the geared sector.
  • Knowledge of shipping operations and IMOS (or similar shipping software).
