Head Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in St Ives, Cornwall. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our all-day Brunch Menu, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in every dish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menu costing strategies to control wastage and optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source local and seasonal produce, ensuring the highest quality ingredients for our dishes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of chefs, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent teamwork and communication.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
  • Manage kitchen operations, prioritizing workload and ensuring efficient service delivery during peak periods.
  • Stay up-to-date with current food trends and cooking techniques, applying innovative ideas to our menu offerings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Sous Chef or Head Chef in a similar dining establishment.
  • Proven ability to create innovative dishes and menus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for developing and empowering team members.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices, with relevant certifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
