Job Summary:

Thomas Franks Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Assistant to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Cambridge. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Prepare food for service, adhering to good hygiene and safety practices, and meeting the standards specified by our Chef Manager.
  2. Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen is left clean and tidy to the required standard, adhering to hygiene standards set by the company and client.
  3. Special Functions: Clear, clean, and store away food, beverages, and equipment required for special functions.
  4. Cleaning and Hygiene: Complete all necessary cleaning and hygiene duties to maintain a professional and flexible approach.
  5. Policy Adherence: Ensure all policies and procedural requirements of legislation and company are adhered to.
  6. Temperature Checks: Conduct necessary checks for food temperatures in the service and associated areas.

Requirements:

  1. Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment is preferred.
  2. Fresh Food Handling: Enjoy working with fresh food and be prepared to support with the preparation of salads, sandwiches, etc.
  3. Serving Experience: Previous experience serving customers within a catering establishment is preferred.
  4. Teamwork and Adaptability: Demonstrate team working abilities, listening skills, and the ability to work on own initiative, with impeccable personal presentation, hygiene, and behavior towards others.
  5. Language Skills: Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English, as well as a reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
  6. Driving License: Possess a valid driving license.
