About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio Electronics Design Engineer to join our rapidly expanding house brands team at Gear4music's York R+D centre. As a key member of our R+D team, you will work closely with product and design teams to develop innovative, market-leading musical instruments and pro audio equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our R+D team and overseas manufacturers to design and develop over 3500 products, including guitars, amps, digital pianos, drums, PA, lighting, and DJ equipment.
  • Design and create schematics, PCBs, and supporting documentation in accordance with concept briefs and mechanical designs.
  • Evaluate and debug the functionality and electronic safety of prototype products.
  • Work with our compliance team to evaluate and troubleshoot product electrical safety matters.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in electronic audio product design, with proficiency in Altium Designer.
  • Experience using Altium MCAD Co-Designer and collaborating with mechanical and product designers to create complete electro-mechanical designs.
  • Passion for musical instruments and pro audio equipment, with a focus on how they are built and function.
  • Practical experience in navigating, analysing, building, and repairing PCBs and electronic products.
