Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Team Leader to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Systems Engineering organization, you will be responsible for developing innovative electrical design solutions for our next-generation switchboards, electrical drives, and distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Electrical Design Solutions: Design and develop electrical equipment and switchboards, taking responsibility for detailed equipment layouts, circuit diagrams, and definition of materials.
  • Lead Electrical Design Team: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the electrical design team, ensuring that designs meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with project managers, technical leads, power systems, and power electronics teams to deliver customer requirements.
  • Ensure Design for Manufacture and Assembly: Implement 'Design for Manufacture and Assembly' techniques in the design process to ensure efficient production and assembly.
  • Participate in Technical Reviews: Participate in technical reviews of designs, providing support for the resolution of problems and ensuring all designs incorporate best engineering practice.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Qualification: A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
  • Design Software: Experience in the use of E-Plan or similar design software for the creation of electrical circuit diagrams and AutoCAD for the creation of 2D drawings.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Good engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Security Clearance: In possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Power Electronics and Switchboard Equipment: Experience of packaging of power electronics and/or switchboard equipment.
  • PLM Software: Experience in the use of Siemens TeamCenter PLM software for BoM creation & management.
  • Decentralized Engineering Team: Experience of working with a de-centralized engineering team across international manufacturing sites.
  • International Travel: Willing and flexible to travel internationally.
