Role Overview:

The Warehouse Operations Specialist within the Distribution Centre (DC) team is tasked with executing various warehouse functions, including inbound receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of palletized products. These activities will be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, utilizing material handling equipment (MHE). The position involves working in both ambient and chilled environments, with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) provided for cooler areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general warehouse duties as directed by management, aligning with customer specifications.
  • Operate, monitor, and control equipment and processes in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Manage stock receipt from various sources, including production returns and supplier deliveries, ensuring accurate booking in on SAP and proper labeling.
  • Conduct stock put away for all materials and finished goods, maintaining effective stock management.
  • Execute stock picking for customer orders and production needs, adhering to the first in, first out (FIFO) method.
  • Marshal stock in both ambient and chilled areas, as well as in production zones.
  • Collect finished goods pallets from production areas as required.
  • Handle silo intake for liquid and bulk powders, overseeing the complete unloading process.
  • Work at heights, utilizing Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks as necessary.
  • Utilize forklift and ride-on pallet trucks for all stock movements.
  • Complete annual safety training for VNA truck operation.
  • Ensure vehicles are suitable for loading, with temperature-controlled units set according to dispatch requirements.
  • Manage allergens in stock across ambient and chilled environments.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards for quality, food safety, health and safety, and environmental regulations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in a warehouse role is essential.
  • Prior experience in a temperature-controlled warehouse is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools is required.
  • Understanding of company standards for quality, food safety, health and safety, and environmental practices is necessary.
  • Experience with MHE, including VNA trucks, forklift counterbalance, and electric pump trucks.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills are required.
  • Familiarity with SAP/WCS software is advantageous.
