Medical Welfare Officer with Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Welfare Officer to join our team at LTF Recruitment. As a Medical Welfare Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of students while supporting their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide first aid and administer medication as needed
- Maintain accurate records of student medical conditions, treatments, and support plans
- Liaise with parents, carers, and medical professionals to ensure students receive appropriate care
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities in the classroom, working alongside teachers to assist with their academic development
- Provide Learning Support Assistant (LSA) duties, including 1:1 and small group support for students
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment, addressing both physical and emotional needs
- First Aid qualification or willingness to complete one
- Previous experience in a medical welfare or student care role within a secondary school or similar environment
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to student care and academic support
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or working in an educational setting
- Knowledge of SEN and experience supporting students academically, particularly in KS3 and KS4
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Paid £100 to £120 per day, term time only
- Long-term potential
