We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthetics to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Anaesthetic Directorate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide anaesthetic services across our hospital sites, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in the trainee anaesthetic rota, including additional cover during colleagues' absences, to ensure continuity of care.
- Assume a continuous commitment to the care of patients, even if employed less than full-time, and ensure adequate arrangements are made for leave and off-duty periods.
- Promote high professional standards of clinical care for patients, both through direct patient care and by maintaining continuing professional development.
- Exercise the freedom to assist in the development of specialist elements of our services, reflecting perceived priorities within available resources.
- Undertake administrative duties involved with the care of patients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Promote high professional standards of clinical care of patients and the health and safety of our theatre environment.
- Maintain continuing education and professional development, at least to the requirements of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

We support the requirements for Continuing Medical Education as laid down by the Royal Colleges and are committed to providing time and financial support for these activities. We are also able to offer CT3 equivalence for anaesthetists who require stage 1 top-up, and specific modules and requirements can be discussed with our college tutors.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate who meets the following essential criteria:
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- MBBS or equivalent
- By date of commencement, will have completed less than three years of training in anaesthesia or have equivalent experience or competencies.
Desirable criteria include:
- APLS/EPALS or equivalent
- ATLS/ETC or equivalent
- Evidence of commitment to medical education, including further qualifications
- Primary FRCA or equivalent
- ALS or equivalent
- Trained clinical supervisor
- Initial assessment of competency in Anaesthesia (IAC)
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in anaesthesia in the UK and previous experience in Intensive Care Medicine. We also welcome applications from candidates with experience in research.
