About the Role

eNL Legal Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Lawyer to support the Senior Legal Counsel on a broad range of construction projects, contracts, and contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiating and Drafting Contracts: Negotiate, draft, and collate construction contracts and similar legal documents to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Construction Due Diligence: Manage the construction due diligence process in respect of financings, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  • Dispute Resolution: Deal with early stages of construction disputes, working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Internal Relationships: Develop key internal relationships with stakeholders, including project managers, architects, and engineers, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Update other internal lawyers to ensure awareness of all issues that may impact associated legal or transactional work, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • External Counsel: Oversee external counsel, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to manage relationships and ensure effective communication.
  • Risk Management: Awareness and escalation of construction-related risk and reputation issues across the business, working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel to develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Day-to-Day Legal Issues: Deal with day-to-day construction-related legal issues that may arise, providing timely and effective support to the project team.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' PQE, ideally with construction legal experience.
  • Construction Law: A sound proven basis in construction law and building development projects is required.
  • Problem-Solving: Must be self-motivated and have a proactive commercial problem-solving approach.
  • Team Player: Must be a team player with a willingness to help others.
  • Flexibility: Flexible, organized, and calm approach to work is essential, with the ability to work under pressure.

eNL Legal Recruitment offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a salary of £80,000 + package.
