About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer - Creative to join our team at Barking & Dagenham College. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, while also contributing to the development of our course offer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, teach, and assess students on our Creative Industries courses, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3.
  • Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, focusing on constructive and developmental feedback.
  • Monitor and report on student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards.
  • Provide personal coaching and pastoral support to designated students.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and employability of our students.
  • Participate in continuing professional development to enhance your teaching practice and stay current with sector developments.
Requirements
  • Hold a teaching qualification and have experience teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors.
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in the subject relevant to the course you will be delivering.
  • Have experience of general Art and Design practice and knowledge/understanding of contemporary and historical Art and Design practice.
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite is desirable, and working knowledge of both PC and Mac software is essential.
