Job Title: DevOps Manager

Job Summary:

Trupanion is seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team in managing and enhancing our Microsoft Azure-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft technologies and a proven track record of implementing and maintaining robust DevOps practices in an Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of highly-skilled DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Utilize Terraform to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our Azure-based systems and services.
  • Manage Azure subscriptions, resources, and access controls to optimize cost efficiency and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications and infrastructure changes.
  • Implement best practices for version control, build automation, and release management using Azure DevOps Services to meet regulatory compliance needs.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure team to refine and implement monitoring solutions to proactively detect and respond to infrastructure and application issues.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, mitigation strategies, and post-incident reviews.
  • Collaborate with the InfoSec team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as SoX, NYDFS, and GDPR.
  • Implement security standard processes and controls to protect sensitive data and infrastructure assets.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and cross-training within the DevOps team and with other groups.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a DevOps or infrastructure engineering role, with solid experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or financial services.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Entra ID, and Azure services (VMs, App Services, Azure SQL, AKS, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration tasks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams.
