**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Lawes Insurance Recruitment. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our brokers and driving profitable growth through ownership and portfolio steering.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Delivering bespoke solutions for niche customer groups managed by our broker partners
* Maintaining our clients market leading position in schemes by keeping abreast of new risks and exposures within our chosen sectors
* Building underwriting guides, policy wordings and other supporting documentation in collaboration with Underwriting, Due Diligence and Legal teams
* Shaping the schemes underwriting strategy and portfolio with the Head of Underwriting to deliver our 2027 ambitions

**Requirements**

* Ability to make a confident decision in difficult and complex situations
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
* Comfortable in analysing, making and executing underwriting recommendations on portfolios of business or willing to learn these skills
* An interest in becoming an expert in specific trades and insurance covers
* Ability to demonstrate great influencing and negotiation skills
* Openness to new ideas, innovation and educated risk taking
* P&C or PI experience, preferably from a schemes background
