Senior Data Engineer SQL AWS

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in London. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data pipelines, working with upstream digital teams to accelerate bringing additional microservice data onto our Analytical Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Jinja
  • Collaborate with upstream digital teams to bring additional microservice data onto our Analytical Platform
  • Lead, enable, and support a team of data engineers, guiding them to apply best practices
  • Ensure practices are up to date with the latest developments in data engineering
  • Design and develop data pipelines
  • Work with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Excellent Python, SQL, and Jinja skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS
  • Experience with orchestration tools, ideally Airflow
  • Experience in building CI/CD workflows, ideally with GitHub Actions
  • For Lead position: Experience in leading, enabling, and supporting a team of data engineers, guiding them to apply best practices
  • Experience in ensuring practices are up to date with the latest developments in data engineering
  • Experience in designing and developing data pipelines
  • Experience in working with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Desirable

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform
  • Experience using dbt, including implementing dbt best practices
