Business Analyst – Trading

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Front Office Support team in London. As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting front office traders and risk managers with their tools and applications, driving tactical and strategic improvements across the functional areas related to the trade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support with regards to a range of IT systems and applications, resolving technical issues and providing user support.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, documenting requirements, and translating these into actionable technical specifications for software development or system enhancements.
- Work with large datasets, developing analytical models, and creating reports or dashboards using SQL, Excel, PowerBI, and Tableau.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the front office operations, proposing and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, reduce operational risks, or optimise trading strategies.
- Strong knowledge of the European Gas and Power Markets, and familiarity with the Gas Storage and/or LNG Deal Lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions to ensure efficient change mobilisation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, charting, pivoting, and data imports (SQL,.CSV).
- Strong SQL skills, encompassing understanding of relational databases, right and left joins, where conditions, and aggregate functions (e.g., having statement).
- Proficient in effectively articulating and eliciting requirements from business and development teams.
- Able to thrive under tight deadlines and negotiate effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Degree (or equivalent) in a numerate subject or computing-related subject.
