Job Summary

G R Carr (Essex) Ltd. is a leading provider of mechanical engineering services to various industrial sectors. We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of piping systems.
  • Pipe Fabrication and Assembly: Fabricate and assemble piping systems, including cutting, bending, and welding of pipes, as well as setting up fittings and butts for welders.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring the well-being of yourself and colleagues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of pipefitting activities, including daily logs and reports.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Proven experience as a Pipefitter in an industrial setting, preferably within the petrochemical, oil and gas, or manufacturing industries. Evidence of time-served apprenticeship or NVQ qualification is desirable.
  • Skills: Knowledge of pipefitting techniques, materials, and equipment, as well as proficiency in using pipefitting tools and equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure are essential.
  • Certifications: Valid pipefitting trade qualification or equivalent, and safety certifications such as CCNSG Safety Passport or similar (CSCS).
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 40-58 hours per week, including overtime and weekends as required.
  • Shifts: 10-hour shifts, 8-hour shifts, day shifts, night shifts, and weekend availability.
  • Location: Basildon, Essex, with the ability to commute or relocate before starting work.
