Job Title: Nurse Advisor

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse Advisor to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Nurse Advisor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality nursing care through receiving and responding to callers accessing the SPA line.
  • Assess health care needs and ensure referral to the appropriate health care provider in accordance with clinical need, and signpost to social and voluntary sector.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner and provide a holistic approach to provide a high standard of clinical expertise in the process of telephone triage assessment, planning treatment education and advice given to patients, carers and other health and social care professionals.
  • Supervise and lead the staff within the single point of access in their absence, promoting positive staff behavior and facilitating the delivery of treatment to individuals, groups and communities.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with current registration.
  • Postgraduate education or demonstrable knowledge, training, and experience.
  • Specialist training experience, courses at diploma level.
  • Previous Primary care or community experience.
  • Relevant extensive post-registration experience.
  • Broad understanding of Sheffield community services.
  • Knowledge of specialist long-term condition management.
  • Knowledge of the management of acute episodes of illness.
  • Line management experience and knowledge of Human Resources processes.
  • Patient assessment skills and experience.
  • Telephone triage experience.
