Procurement Specialist

Salary: £37,500 - £42,000 + pension, life cover, free parking, and a generous holiday allowance.

LTS Resourcing is a market-leading organization seeking to enhance its team with a dedicated Procurement Specialist. This role is pivotal in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply chain for various projects.
Role Overview:
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the acquisition of goods and services that meet specified cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Your expertise will support the Operations Director in making informed commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire goods, materials, components, or services in alignment with defined cost, quality, and delivery standards.
- Manage commercial interactions with suppliers and assist in strategic decision-making.
- Support procurement processes and expedite orders as necessary.
- Ensure a continuous supply of essential goods and materials.
- Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier capabilities.
- Negotiate both short-term and long-term contracts with suppliers, focusing on cost reduction and improved terms.
- Exhibit strong commercial awareness across all business functions.
- Cultivate and manage supplier relationships, conducting performance evaluations to ensure compliance and drive improvements.
- Negotiate service agreements with key suppliers.
- Assist in managing service parts and warranty issues, as well as capital expenditure purchasing.
- Oversee planning, supply management, and inventory analysis.
- Initiate new strategies to enhance supplier relationships and identify cost-effective practices.
Essential Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a procurement role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Project management proficiency.
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A successful track record in commercial negotiations.
- Ability to handle complex negotiations effectively.
- High organizational skills with a focus on detail and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to meet deliverables in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Decisive, proactive, and assertive in approach.
- Proficient in IT applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
