About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team as an Advanced Social Worker in the Newton Abbot Community Health and Social Care Team. This is a permanent, full-time position with 37 hours per week.

About the Team

The Newton Abbot team is part of the wider South Devon team, working closely with Coastal Teignmouth and Dawlish. We are a diverse team of professionals, including Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and non-professionally qualified staff. We support adults of working age with physical and/or learning disabilities, as well as older persons with physical disabilities and/or mental health issues, including dementia, and carers.

About the Role

The Advanced Social Worker will play a key role in driving best practice and supporting our teams to deliver the best outcomes for our service users. You will work closely with the team managers in each locality, focusing on Devon's priorities for driving improvement and best practice.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about promoting independence, health, and wellbeing, and rights for the people of Devon. You will have experience of coaching and mentoring professional colleagues, driving creativity in practice, and leadership experience in supervising or managing others. You will also have effective communication and interpersonal skills, adopting a person-centred approach to practice.
