Apprenticeship Structure

  • Year 1: Full-time at Yeovil College completing Level 2 competence qualification and Level 4 HNC in Aeronautical Engineering
  • Year 2: Work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, attend Yeovil College for Level 4 HNC and start Level 5 HND
  • Year 3: Work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, Level 4 competence qualification and complete Level 5 HND
  • Year 4: Work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, complete Level 4 competence qualification and start Level 6 BEng at Plymouth University
  • Year 5: Work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, complete Level 4 competence qualification and Level 6 BEng

End Point Assessment required for all Apprentices at the final stage of the programme.

Departmental areas include structural design, rotor design, transmission design, materials laboratory, electrical design, avionics, and more.
