Support Worker Day Centre

iPeople SC Solutions Limited is currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work at a Day Centre for Adults with autism and learning disabilities in Walthamstow and surrounding areas.
The successful post holder will provide direct support to service users with a range of complex needs, ensuring person-centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated, and CQC standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Support service users with learning disabilities and complex needs in a day centre environment.
- Assist with personal care and manual handling tasks.
- Liaise with colleagues and other agencies to support service users with complex needs and their families/carers.
- Monitor and report on service users' circumstances.
- Carry out all duties with an awareness and understanding of the Safeguarding requirements within own area of responsibility.
Working with people with complex needs and/or behaviour that may challenge the service, that enables community participation.
Requirements:- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Relevant care qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, QCF or equivalent.
- Previous experience of working in a day centre is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications. Proven ability to manage behaviour that may challenge services. Proven ability to encourage and support connections and networks of service users and the local community. Proven ability to work as an effective team member.
