Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Protection Adviser to join our team at UK Atomic Energy Authority. As a Radiation Protection Adviser, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe handling and use of ionising radiation in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain radiation protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential radiation hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees are aware of radiation safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure radiation safety is integrated into all aspects of our operations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on radiation safety matters to employees and management.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR16).
  • Awareness of other relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
