About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at Kiln Theatre. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our café and bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff and On-Floor Management
    • Provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all guests
    • Supervise and support casual catering staff to ensure excellent service
    • Ensure consistency in providing high-quality service and presentation
  • Finance and Stock
    • Assist in ordering and managing catering stock to minimize wastage and ensure effective stock supply
    • Work with the Catering Manager to review product lists, source, price, and promote new products
    • Carry out monthly stock takes and maintain accurate records
  • Hires and Events
    • Work with the Catering Manager and Front of House & Events Manager to develop and deliver special catering requests and private events
    • Lead on the delivery of events and hires as required by the Catering Manager
  • Health and Safety, Compliance, and Maintenance
    • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the catering and FOH areas
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements
  • Green and Sustainability
    • Work with the Catering Manager to source products and services that are environmentally ethical
    • Ensure that we recycle as much waste as possible correctly and are single-use plastic free
Person Specification
  • Experience in a hospitality setting, ideally as a supervisor or shift leader
  • Experience in coffee making and drinks production (additional training will be provided)
  • Experience working in a busy setting handling drinks, food, and taking payments
