Deputy Head of Social Media Strategist

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of our social media strategies, working closely with the editorial team to ensure our content shines on all social media platforms.
You will have the opportunity to create and coordinate social media strategies for breaking news and special projects, assisting the Head of Social in developing The Telegraph's long-term social media strategies and identifying opportunities for innovation across platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day output of the social media editors across our various accounts and platforms, ensuring posts are of the highest quality, on-brand, and optimized.
- Developing and implementing social media strategies to promote, support, and maximize the impact of our editorial content, driving subscriptions, and growing reach and influence.
- Assisting the Head of Social in devising strategies for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms, staying on top of trends and thinking creatively about how to best promote our stories and content.
- Collaborating with visual storytelling teams to create unique, original content that drives engagement on social media and sets us apart from competitors.
- Using analytics tools to inform decision-making and guide Commissioners across the newsroom.
- Supporting reporters with training and guidance in growing their own social media communities.
