Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring timely and accurate processing to meet our obligations to suppliers.
  • Maintain the integrity of data within our Purchase Ledger systems, adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Ensure recoverable VAT is identified and coded for recovery.
  • Make payments within supplier terms, adhering to Public Sector Payment Policy requirements.
  • Produce payments for authorized invoices, reporting internally and externally as required.
  • Post and sort incoming mail, dealing with supplier remittances and checking statements.
  • Resolve order and invoice queries, demonstrating work activities to new or less experienced staff.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
    • NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
  • Desirable:
    • JAC software knowledge.
    • Excel experience.
Key Skills

  • Computer literacy and excellent keyboard skills.
