Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Senior Research Technician for a fixed-term role, specializing in human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPS cells) within the Haniffa Lab, part of the Cellular Genetics programme at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Senior Research Technician, you will engage in hands-on laboratory activities focused on cultivating hiPS cells and refining organoid production processes. This involves:
- Implementing established protocols and leveraging existing literature to enhance experimental outcomes.
- Conducting daily laboratory tasks to develop in vitro organoid models derived from hiPS cells.
- Independently managing complex experimental procedures to meet the objectives set by lead scientists.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be adaptable to the dynamic requirements of tissue culture and possess a high degree of precision, given the significant investment in reagents and the complexity of organoid differentiation protocols. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with Staff Scientists and team members.
A keen interest in hematopoietic development is crucial for this role.
