Job Title: Instrument Engineer IPS

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to join our team at our site in Aberdeen. As an Instrument Engineer, you will provide technical support to the operations site-based team, contribute to project development, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our instrument and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement improvements to instrument and protective systems to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for long-term asset strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and own the asset's instrument and control systems spares strategy.
  • Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown, including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
  • Monitor and advise on the technical and safety implications of any maintenance backlog.
  • Act as custodian of key instrument and control systems engineering documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to asset TAR activities and coach instrument technicians to ensure their competency and skills are continually improved.
  • Participate in incident management teams and support planned and unplanned outages.
  • Contribute to the Asset self-audit program.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Degree in Instrument Engineering or a related field.
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • Hold BOSIET, Medical, and MIST certifications for offshore travel.
  • Have at least 5 years' experience in the Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries, with knowledge of instrument and control systems design, operation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of relevant UK Regulatory standards and industry best practices.
