Company Overview: Safran Engineering Services UK Limited is seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer with a focus on DVI-PPAP and manufacturing processes.

Role Overview: The Quality Engineer will collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Team to develop DVI-PPAP documentation in compliance with AS9102 standards and internal procedures. This role involves preparing DVI-PPAP reports, gathering and analyzing data, and engaging with shop floor operators during assembly processes.

The successful candidate will maintain close communication with customers and various stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and confidence in our services. This position is primarily onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create FAIR/DVI-PPAP reports, with potential validation following the qualification process.
  • Perform ballooning of engineering drawings, utilizing both manual and automated methods.
  • Extract and document drawing characteristics and requirements from build manuals and specifications for FAIR/DVI-PPAP reports.
  • Retrieve necessary records from databases, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
  • Access databases to reference previous FAIRs/DVI-PPAP for sub-assemblies and detail parts.
  • Collaborate with Nacelles Teams across Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Manufacturing.
  • Facilitate effective communication between customer stakeholders and Safran Engineering Services teams.

Qualifications:

  • Must be located in the UK and provide proof of the right to work.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, particularly AS9102; knowledge of AS9103 and AS9145 is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, build manuals, and specifications.
  • Competence in comparing specifications and CoCs with suppliers.
  • Experience with 8D problem-solving techniques is a plus.
  • Manual inspection experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated motivation and teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
