We are seeking a talented Commercial Property Solicitor to join our Reading-based Real Estate team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice to clients on a range of commercial property matters.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial property law and will be able to demonstrate a commercial approach to their work. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, leases, licences, transfers, deeds, etc. and will work closely with our Banking, Corporate and Insolvency Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting and/or taking full responsibility for deals by drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, leases, licences, transfers, deeds, etc.
  • Undertaking due diligence tasks by reviewing and reporting on title, raising enquiries, reviewing searches
  • Dealing with secured lending and corporate support transactions and working closely with our Banking, Corporate and Insolvency Teams
  • Liaising with clients and lawyers on the other side of transactions
  • Obtaining quotes for indemnity policies, liaising with insurance brokers and underwriters as appropriate
  • Undertaking legal research
  • Attending client or all parties' meetings
  • Participating in business development events
Requirements

We are looking for a solicitor with a strong background in commercial property law and a commercial approach to their work. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to explain complex matters to clients without a legal background. You will also have a strong technical competence and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
