Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department at Teignmouth Community School. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving forward strategic priorities, ensuring a robust curriculum and assessment framework, and inspiring excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Lead and manage a team of MFL teachers, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and inclusive curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Trust-wide initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience of leading a department or team in a secondary school setting
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students
  • Strong subject knowledge and expertise in MFL, with a passion for teaching and learning
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents
