We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Line Manager - Electric Powertrain Specialist to join our team at Optamor. As a key member of our Vehicle Electrification Team, you will be responsible for the successful ownership and delivery of Electric Powertrain Programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Programme Delivery: Responsible for the delivery of Electric Powertrain systems for a defined vehicle programme, operating within a matrix engineering organisation.
- Cost, Quality, and Timing: Responsible for the Cost, Quality, and Timing of the team delivery.
- Technical Proposal Preparation: Support preparation of technical proposals both from Optamor to customers as well as suppliers to Gordon Murray.
- Team Leadership: Leadership of a team of engineers who will create EV Architectures, integrate technology solutions and deliver commodities from both suppliers and cross-functional team members.
- Progress Reporting: Report progress and milestones to the PMO and actively participate in planning and scoping exercises.
- Component Specification: Provide guidance to ensure that key components are correctly specified, integrated and packaged in accordance with vehicle requirements at a system level including compliance with any necessary environmental, electrical, Functional Safety, EMC and legislative regulations.
- DFMEA Process: Oversee the DFMEA process to ensure that the proposed approach provides suitable coverage for the technologies and risks associated with the programme.
- Risk Management: Create and operate a risk register to ensure that identified risks are captured, understood, assigned and mitigated at an appropriate level of priority.
- Fault Management: Advocate the fault management system to ensure that an appropriate approach is taken to resolving any outstanding faults.
- Team Development: In conjunction with the technical engineering managers, support recruitment and ongoing professional development of the engineering team.
- Education: Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
- Experience: Significant experience of Electric Powertrains (Battery to Driveshaft) within an automotive engineering environment. Recent experience in delivering into high volume vehicle programmes.
- Leadership: An inspiring leader, able to get the best out of a diverse, multi-skilled team.
- Project Management: Project management qualifications are an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Demonstrable understanding of electric powertrain architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, HV harnessing, electrical safety systems, serviceability and control strategies.
- System Delivery: Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, quality planning, PPAP etc) and full product lifecycle activities.
- V-Cycle: A comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
- Project Engineering: Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports. Risk management, mitigation and recovery planning.
- Driving Licence: Full driving licence is essential. No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
