About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Carlingford Lodge Care Home, a leading provider of nursing care in Warrenpoint. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met, while also managing a safe and positive working environment for the team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the kitchen team in providing high-quality, person-centred dining experiences for our residents.
  • Effective and efficient planning, preparation, and delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking.
  • Ensure operational standards comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with monitoring the home's catering budget and developing varied and interesting menus.
  • Ensure that stock ordering and rotation is organised in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Requirements
  • Understand the dietary needs, nutritional and cultural requirements of the elderly.
  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Food Safety or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a food preparation/kitchen environment.
  • Hold a basic Food Safety certificate.
  • Have basic knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health and Safety.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
