About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our Podiatry team as a Healthcare Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive team environment, delivering high-quality patient care and promoting rehabilitation and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care, promoting rehabilitation and independence under the supervision of qualified staff.
  • Deliver specific foot health screening using a variety of diagnostic tools as per protocol and referring to clinical podiatrists as appropriate.
  • Deliver nail surgery dressing appointments in line with the department protocol and policy.
  • Assist in the manufacture of insoles and orthotics (under the guidance of the lab Technician) within the manufacturing laboratories.
  • Assist in the provision of minor surgical procedures and the delivery of post-operative advice.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment, following the departments policies and protocols.
Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE level in English and Maths

Experience

  • Experience of working within an outpatient clinic or healthcare setting
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook
  • Knowledge and understanding of wound care
