Position Overview

We invite qualified candidates to consider a full-time, fixed-term opportunity within our esteemed Nuclear Medicine division. This role encompasses a commitment of 40 hours per week, primarily aimed at enhancing our diagnostic and therapeutic services.

The selected individual will benefit from the support of a dynamic and collaborative Nuclear Medicine team, with opportunities to engage in academic advancements utilizing cutting-edge technologies within the specialty.

As one of the largest Nuclear Medicine departments in the UK and Europe, we offer a diverse array of specialized procedures, including PET, radionuclide therapy, and general nuclear medicine. Our rapidly growing service seeks a proactive individual capable of adapting to various situations while providing leadership and specialized knowledge to foster quality enhancements, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily medical operations of the Nuclear Medicine service, including PET/CT, PETMR, SPECTCT, Cardiac Stress Testing, Dexa, and radionuclide therapies.
  • Conduct and supervise a comprehensive range of imaging procedures, ensuring high clinical standards and prioritizing patient care for optimal service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with senior professionals, including radiographers, technologists, medical staff, physicists, and nursing personnel, to maintain an efficient and responsive Nuclear Medicine service.
  • Document patients' medical histories and clinical data accurately in patient records and the Radiology Information System as necessary.
  • Engage with all technical and clinical aspects of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform pre-treatment risk assessments and administer radionuclide therapy under appropriate supervision.
  • Initially report on general nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, and PET/CT studies under supervision.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, presenting cases under guidance.
  • Undertake audit and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Educational supervisor.
