Position Overview
We are pleased to present a remarkable opportunity for a Lead Therapeutic Radiographer to become a vital member of our innovative radiotherapy team at Velindre Cancer Centre. This role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional care in a state-of-the-art radiotherapy environment.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is advantageous for this position; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in all facets of the radiotherapy department, operating treatment units and managing pre-treatment processes with precision and consistency.
- Assist in coordinating departmental workflows and take charge of mentoring and overseeing junior radiographers and students.
- Assume the responsibilities of team leader in the absence of the senior radiographer, as necessary.
- Collaborate within a large multidisciplinary team, contributing to the comprehensive care of patients receiving radiotherapy.
- Adapt to the dynamic needs of the service, including weekend shifts and working across multiple locations.
- Participate in after-hours and on-call duties as required.

Essential Criteria
- A Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent qualifications.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through relevant courses or experience.
- Understanding of the principles and concepts related to radiotherapy applications and techniques.
- Awareness of current oncology developments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
