Job Description

Squarcle is a leading strategy, operations, and digital consultancy dedicated to driving the performance of our clients. Our Technology Services department is responsible for providing expert technology and digitisation strategy and design, operational optimisation, and analysis advice to clients operating within a fast-moving global environment.

The Senior Consultant, Technology Services department, reports to a Manager and is responsible for the provision of independent expert advice to help identify and solve technical challenges, increase value, and maximise business efficiency and profitability.

Using established processes, the consultant will assist in the creation of digital strategies, processes optimisation, and identifying technology solutions to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Ensure all solutions comply with government policies, such as security, data protection, and accessibility standards, and are aligned with the appropriate technical standards and frameworks.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and design strategies for mitigating technical challenges or risks related to architecture and delivery.
  • Assist the Head of Technology Services in developing Squarcle's technology capabilities.
  • Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for all direct reports.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks, including Business, Data, Application, Security, and Technology Architecture, and how to apply them to organisational solutions.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing digital solutions that align with TOGAF's Architecture Development Method phases.
  • In-depth understanding of secure system design, including security standards, encryption, authentication, and risk management.
  • Experience designing and delivering technology and digital solutions to solve business problems and create enduring value for clients.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the design of cloud-architectures.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with DevOps practices, applying TOGAF architecture governance in agile workflows to align architecture with delivery roadmaps.
  • Strong risk identification and mitigation skills in the context of architecture, utilising TOGAF's risk management methodologies.
Desirable
  • Experience working with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards, service design principles, and technology codes of practice.
  • Certifications in other architecture frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT to complement TOGAF experience.
  • Practical experience leading digital transformation projects, particularly in the public sector, aligned with TOGAF's enterprise architecture methodologies.
