Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Innovate. As a key player in our rapidly expanding company, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development of industry-leading practices.

About the Role

  1. Lead the design and development of complex electronic systems, ensuring that they meet operational performance standards and are delivered within project timescales and budget.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into innovative electronics design solutions.
  3. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans, requirements, and procedures, to support project development and deliverables.
  4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality results.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest technical, scientific, and engineering developments, identifying opportunities to enhance the company's offering and improve engineering quality, cost, and efficiency.

Requirements

  1. Proven track record of completing complex system design, implementation, testing, and integration in the highly regulated military industry or a related field.
  2. Experience with system lifecycle management, including design, development, testing, integration, and acceptance.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of C++, Java, and C# programming languages, as well as firmware design principles and sophisticated electronics.
  4. Understanding of military-grade COTS communication and sensor systems.
  5. Ability to manage, motivate, and develop engineering employees to ensure they meet targets within agreed timelines and standards of quality.
