Electricity North West Limited (ENWL) is seeking a proficient and seasoned Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Operator (C+E) and Overhead Lines (OHL) Assistant to become a vital part of our diverse and cooperative workforce in Barrow. Located at the Barrow Depot, you will collaborate with the Operations team, taking charge of the loading, unloading, and transportation of equipment, materials, and various items to and from designated work locations. It is essential to ensure that all items are securely fastened and compliant with HGV operational regulations at all times.

As an HGV Operator (C+E) and OHL Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating machinery on-site as necessary, adhering to individual training and authorization.
  • Supporting Overhead Line Workers in the inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction of the overhead electricity supply network.
  • Utilizing vehicle-mounted lifting and loading apparatus, as well as wheeled and tracked machinery, including 180 and 360 excavators.

To qualify for this position, you must possess a valid Class 1 driving license (essential) and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Barrow. Additionally, you should demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of safety protocols relevant to the role.
  • A readiness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in completing necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
