Infrastructure Architect

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Services Team, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, building, delivering, and maintaining a performant and secure distributed Infrastructure environment.
This is a challenging role that requires a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. You will be working closely with multiple areas of the business to provide specialist technical support and expertise across our enterprise digital workspace solutions, desktop operating systems, application packaging, configuration/patch management, and unified comms.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Management: Maintain and proactively manage the portfolio of IT Solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Incident and Problem Management: Provide specialist level support for incident and problem management, including root cause analysis and resolution.
- Solution Design and Architecture: Design and architect solutions that are resilient, secure, and scalable across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Health Checks and Service Improvement: Perform regular health checks to identify potential service improvements and recommend solutions.
- Project and Service Improvement Participation: Participate in projects and service improvements that impact Infrastructure Services.
- Proactive Maintenance: Identify, own, and implement proactive maintenance plans, including essential upgrades and software patches.
- Service Performance Monitoring: Monitor and review service performance at a component level, producing reports and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
- Vendor Liaison: Liaise with 3rd party vendors for technical support, build, and maintenance.
- Service Level Agreements: Meet levels of service in line with published/agreed SLAs.
- Process Adherence: Adhere to all Pilgrim's Europe processes, including Change Control, problem record management, and configuration management database maintenance.
- Out-of-Hours Support: Provide out-of-hours support, including participation in an on-call/stand-by rota.
- Technical Expertise: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a specialist architecture/support/delivery role in a medium to large organization, with significant technical delivery/support responsibility.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep technical knowledge/specialism of Microsoft system Centre (SCCM, Intune, MEM), Azure AD/OneDrive/Desktop Group Policy/MFA, Windows Desktop Operating Systems/Microsoft365/End Point Protection, and other relevant technologies.
- Experience: Experience of architecting, designing, configuring, implementing, developing, and supporting complex solutions with a value in excess of £500K.
- ITIL and Budgetary Experience: Experienced in impact analysis and technical risk assessment, and previous experience of budgetary and financial controls.
- Leadership and Coaching: Experienced in driving colleague/customer results through management of direct/indirect resources, coaching, mentoring, and guiding technical staff.
- ITIL and Culture: Fully conversant with ITIL principles and a thorough working knowledge of Incident, Change & Problem Management, and understanding of culture in its broadest sense and the diversity of a global organization.
- Formal Qualification: Formally qualified in IT either through a primary degree, postgraduate masters, or professionally.
- ITIL and Vendor Qualification: ITIL qualified or experience gained from managing in an IT service management environment, and Microsoft/Vendor qualification.
