Main Duties of the Job

We are seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to lead the provision of clinical management of patients presenting to the hospital who are unwell as a result of their cancer, side effects of their cancer treatment or have a new diagnosis of cancer in conjunction with the Clinical Lead for Acute Oncology.

The post holders will apply high levels of autonomy and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

The ongoing education of colleagues at all levels will also be a central component.

  • To provide care for presenting patients in an emergency setting acting as liaison and expert in oncology acting within their professional boundaries.
  • To advise urgent care, tumour site and ward based clinical and nursing colleagues on the management of acute oncology patients.
